Michael and Royce Morales Business Background
 
Royce and Michael Morales are co-creators of Harmony Works, an eco-sensitive gallery and green gift shop in Redondo Beach, California, in business since 1994.  The following describes many of their business and personal accomplishments:

1) They personally created their two retail shop interiors utilizing all earth-friendly and recycled materials.  Created innovative merchandise display units with recycled and re-purposed materials.

2) They conducted extensive product research to sell only sell earth-friendly merchandise at their shop, and personally encouraged hundreds of vendors to shift to sustainable materials and business practices.

3) Harmony Works was given the highest “Four Leaf Award for Achievement” for earth friendly businesses in 2006, 2007 and 2008 from the “Greenopia… Los Angeles Urban Dwellers Guide to Green Living” directory.

4) Harmony Works received a WRAP (Waste Reduction Awards Program) award in 1999.

5) Royce is a regular contributor to New Age Retailer and Inspired Retailer Magazines.  She was given her own column in Inspired Retailer called “Grass Roots: Insights, Answers & Musings From the Ground Up,” where she answers retail shop owners green questions. 

6) Michael was a committee head on the Redondo Beach Green Task Force. 

7) Michael assisted in setting up the Business Recycling Program in the Riviera Village business district.

8) Michael and Royce designed and built an entire earth friendly home from the ground up at the 1996 Eco Expo in Los Angeles.  They were personally in charge of creating the earth-friendly interior including furniture, accessories, floor, walls, window treatments, etc.  Conducted daily tours of the house.

9) Michael and Royce were Board of Directors for the EcoHome Network in Los Angeles from 1996-1999.

10) Harmony Works was voted Redondo Beach “Business of the Year” in 2003.

11) Michael was voted Redondo Beach “Man of the Year” in 2006.

12) Michael was selected Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce Chair for 2009-2010.

13) Royce and Michael both served on the Public Art Task Force to implement the first Public Arts Program in the city of Redondo Beach, presented to the City Council and passed in 2008.
